Woburn, Mass., December 14, 2009 – Avenue100 Media Solutions, Inc., a growing digital marketing company, today announced the completion of its acquisition of the award-winning job and career site GETtheJob.com. With unemployment rates hitting record numbers, jobseekers are open to exploring new career paths and corporate recruiters need to sort through a glut of résumés to make a strategic match for available opportunities. By expanding its portfolio of Web properties and adding a staffing and human resources expert to its management team, Avenue100 now helps match qualified jobseekers with optimal career opportunities through guidance, tools, and education resources.

“Avenue100’s entry into the career business is a natural step in our corporate evolution given our successful Web properties in the education realm. Our extensive user base made it clear that they wanted direct access to more career-oriented resources,” said Brian Eberman, CEO of Avenue100. “GETtheJob.com offered all of the elements we were looking for as a strategic acquisition. We anticipate continued growth in the career-matching arena as our experienced team, now led by seasoned HR expert David Kimmelman, makes GETtheJob.com the best career management site.”

Regarded as the “Zagat” for the online employment industry by the America Staffing Association, WEDDLE’s LLC ranked GETtheJob.com in the top third of the “Top 100 Job Boards” in its 2009/10 Guide to Employment Sites on the Internet.

With Avenue100’s proprietary technology and proven digital marketing strategies and practices, GETtheJob.com helps users identify, build, and manage their own employment brand and career path, while helping corporate recruiters connect with the most qualified candidates. Users will also be able to create and market their individual career brands to potential employers.

The newly appointed general manager of careers and jobs for Avenue100, David Kimmelman, led the acquisition. With nearly two decades of experience serving in roles ranging from high-tech recruiter to VP of HR and VP of business development, he will continue to drive the company’s strategic push into the career market by helping jobseekers understand how to network and land the ideal position.

Kimmelman’s most recent role was VP of talent services at Vestmark, a financial services software company. Prior to that, he held management positions at BrassRing (now Kenexa), Human Capital Institute, and Lee Hecht Harrison, among others. An active member of the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA) for more than a decade, Kimmelman is a regular speaker and panelist on HR and recruiting issues at colleges and industry events.

CourseAdvisor.com Survey Demonstrates the Demand for Centralized Financial Aid Information and Expert Resources

Wakefield, Mass., October 14, 2009 — (<a href="http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/Avenue100-1059424.html"title="MarketWire: Avenue100 Launches to Debut a New Collection of Digital Marketing Resources" target="_blank" class="extlink">Marketwire) — Avenue100 Media Solutions, Inc., a growing digital marketing company, announced the findings of a recent survey conducted through the company’s flagship Web property, CourseAdvisor.com. Approximately 1,800 respondents participated, and 43% overwhelmingly cited the ability to pay for school as their top concern. In addition, the data revealed that selecting a degree program weighs on earnings potential, flexibility, and the option to make a career change, but the order of importance differs by both age and gender.

Age in particular is an evolving factor in school enrollment. According to the U.S. Department of Education, more than one third of individuals studying for an associate’s degree or higher were 25 and older in 2007 and this number is expected to grow by 20% by 2017. The survey supports this trend — 69% of respondents were 25 and older.

Key findings from the survey include:

While both men and women are equally concerned about how to pay for college (43%), 18% of women are also worried about finding a program that “fits their needs,” while 21% of men prefer to make sure it’s the “right career path.”

While none of the respondents reported visiting school Web sites directly for degree and financial aid information, an astounding 36% cited search engines as their primary tool for finding such information.

However, 42% of respondents found information from career experts, financial aid professionals, and school administrators most helpful when seeking information about degree programs.

In addition, 40–50-year-olds rely on government Web sites for information on financial aid two times more than those under 24 years old.

The most important criteria for selecting a degree program varied widely depending on age:

Those under 25 years of age focused on the ability to “make money”

Criteria for 25-30-year-olds addressed the need for a career “change”

Respondents over 40 years of age noted “flexibility” as their top preference

“As the survey data depicts, people are looking for more than just standard information on degree programs and financial aid resources. Rather, they are seeking individualized data based on their stage of life, gender, or age. Unfortunately, it can be overwhelming to search the Internet for such relevant, personalized information,” noted Brian Eberman, CEO of Avenue100. “Likewise, higher education institutions and financial aid providers are often unsure of how to find and attract prospective students via the Web. With our network of education-focused Web properties, Avenue100 offers the direct access to schools and institutions that consumers demand while helping our partners identify the students who are most appropriate for their programs.”

Wakefield, Mass., June 16, 2008 – The restaurant and hospitality industry is one the largest employers in the United States, providing jobs for 13.1 million people1. Unlike other industries, the culinary job sector is expected to produce two million new career and employment opportunities across the U.S. between 2008 and 2018.

To accommodate the significant growth of career opportunities in the culinary arts field, CourseAdvisor, an established marketing and lead generation company operating one of the top online education directories, <a href="http://www.courseadvisor.com"title="CourseAdvisor.com" class="extlink">CourseAdvisor.com, offers education and training programs from Culinary Diplomas, and Associate Degrees in Culinary Arts to Bachelor Degrees in Culinary Arts Management.

“A career in the culinary arts field can be highly competitive,” said Greg Titus, founder and CEO, CourseAdvisor. “However, students armed with formal training and a degree can move into a cook or chef position, rather than staying in entry-level, low-paying kitchen jobs. The career opportunitiesare endless.”

Students in formal culinary training programs generally spend most of their time in kitchens learning to use the appropriate equipment and prepare meals through actual practice2. Programs vary, but on-campus classes typically include good technique, safe procedures, nutrition, menu planning, and purchasing and inventory methods. In addition, some schools offer online programs in food service management,
computer accounting and inventory software, and banquet service.

The Chef: The New Hollywood Star

Many chefs earn fame both for themselves and their kitchens because of the quality and distinctive nature of the food they serve—giving rise to the celebrity chef. In large eating establishments and hotels there are several different types of chefs, including:

Executive chef: Coordinates the work of the kitchen staff, plans menus, directs meal preparation, orders food supplies, and oversees kitchen operations to ensure uniform quality and meal presentation. The executive chef may also supervise the many kitchens of a hotel, restaurant group, or corporate dining operation.

Chef de cuisine: Reports to the executive chef and is responsible for the daily operations of a single kitchen.

Sous chef (or sub chef): The second-in-command, who runs the kitchen in the absence of the chef.

Pastry chef: In charge of the dessert menu, including dessert wines, specialty dessert beverages,
and gourmet cheese platters. Pastry chefs research recipe concepts, develop and test new recipes.

CourseAdvisor Pairs Students With High-Demand Healthcare Programs

Wakefield, Mass., May 7, 2008 – The rising demand for health care services is creating many new high–paying career opportunities across a wide range of medical and wellness occupations. Physicians and nurses may be the most visible professions in the healthcare field, but many other professions support their efforts,
including allied health. The advantage of many allied health careers is that they require only an associate’s degree or professional certification. CourseAdvisor, an established marketing and lead generation company operating one of the top online education directories, <a href="http://www.courseadvisor.com"title="CourseAdvisor.com" class="extlink">CourseAdvisor.com, offers information on financial aid and several online degree programs and online courses for those interested in pursuing a career in the allied health field. Alternatively, the <a href="http://www.courseadvisor.com/wiz/stageone/"title="CourseAdvisor Education Wizard" class="extlink">CourseAdvisor education wizard can save prospective students time by matching them directly to online or campus healthcare programs best suited for their requirements and goals.

According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in the allied health field is expected to grow more than 21 percent between 2006 and 2016. “In order for medical and nursing professionals to provide the best possible service, they rely on an extensive team of allied health professionals,” said Greg Titus, founder and CEO, <a href="http://www.courseadvisor.com"title="CourseAdvisor.com" class="extlink">CourseAdvisor. “With the current economic instability, students are challenged with finding the right career with low risk and high reward. The demand for allied health professionals with a two–year associate degree or professional certification is rapidly
growing as the health care field expands.”

In today’s rapidly expanding nursing and healthcare field, allied health professionals include diagnosticians, administrators, managers, and therapeutic or wellness specialists such as massage therapists. These professionals typically work at medical laboratories, hospitals, outpatient clinics, pharmacies, and doctors’ offices. Allied health careers requiring only professional training and certification or a two–year associate degree include:

CT Scan or MRI Technician

Dental Hygienist

ECG/EKG Technician

EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or Paramedic

CourseAdvisor and Eduventures Address the Changing Student Profile at Recent Webcast

Wakefield, Mass., February 27, 2008 – CourseAdvisor, an established marketing and lead generation company operating one of the top online education directories, and Eduventures, the leader in shared–cost, data–driven research and consulting for higher education, today announced results from an online poll of executives representing more than 120 postsecondary educational institutions. The poll found that more than 53 percent of respondents agree that adult learners are the most challenging group to reach and retain.

“With the enrollment of college students age 35 and over projected to increase by 7 percent over the next few years, understanding how to communicate with adult learners is extremely important,” said Noah Carp, Senior Analyst, Eduventures. “By taking a data–driven analytical approach to marketing and recruiting, the likelihood of finding the right student for the right program at the right school can increase tremendously. As a result, the challenges of retention can also be lessened through an informed and well–executed recruiting strategy.”

Additionally, participants noted that parents (48 percent) and peers (47 percent) continue to be the biggest influence for students when deciding on colleges and programs.

Participants included senior level managers from the Admissions, Marketing and Recruitment departments and were surveyed during a recent webcast led by Noah Carp, Senior Analyst with Eduventures, and Justin Klapprodt, Director of Strategic Analysis of CourseAdvisor. The webcast discussed the shifting student composition and the
best methods of reaching those students, how the millennial explosion is having an impact on traditional four–year programs, why adult learners are turning to online education programs, and best recruitment practices. The webcast, “Recruitment and Retention Strategies for the Changing Student Profile,” can be viewed at: <a href="https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/970140809"title="Recruitment and Retention Strategies for the Changing Student Profile" class="extlink">https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/970140809.

“The postsecondary market is experiencing a generational shift. More adults than ever are going back to school, and the glut of high school applicants is keeping acceptance rates low and competition at an all–time high,” said Justin Klapprodt, Director of Strategic Analysis, CourseAdvisor. “College admissions officers and marketing professionals need to re–evaluate their strategies as they incorporate generational behaviors into marketing and enrollment programs to reach various student profiles.”

Wakefield, Mass., January 9, 2008 – Not all students are packing up and heading back to the dorms for Spring semester. Many people with full–time jobs, family responsibilities,
young children or who are trying to start over, do not have the time or money to invest in on–campus programs as they pursue associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degrees. For those looking to online education programs to fulfill their 2008 resolutions, the experts at CourseAdvisor, an established marketing and lead generation company operating one of the top online education directories, today announced what they see as the top questions about online education, as well as advice to prepare students for what is ahead.

Prospective students ask:

What are the differences between online programs and campus-based programs?

What kind of technology do I need to do an online course?

How do you pick which program is best for you?

How do I ask my employer to sponsor my degree?

Do I have to finish my degree in a certain amount of time?

Can I still get financial aid/scholarships for online programs?

How flexible are online programs?

Are online courses faster and/or easier?

Will other schools and employers recognize my degree?

Will this advance my career?

One CourseAdvisor.com user said, “I had so many questions and didn’t think I would be able to find all of the information I needed on different schools in one place. Using
CourseAdvisor.com, I found everything I needed in one spot and felt much more prepared. It was a major help in furthering my education.”

CourseAdvisor experts advise:

Don’t wait – apply for grants and financial aid early.

Look into what prerequisites (if any) you would need before applying.

Don’t settle – use online directories that include a variety of courses and schools.

If you want the on–campus experience too, investigate joint campus/online programs.

Take advantage of the flexibility – make sure the online program fits your personal needs and limits.

Think about how much you can take on – don’t overload your course schedule.

Seek out guidance – online resources, family, friends and teachers – if you’re not sure what the best program is for you.

Know the difference between accredited and non–accredited programs.

Figure out what’s most important to you – is this for your passion or for your career advancement?

Be confident that you’re taking a step toward your future.

“Higher education is now making it easier for people to reach their educational goals. It’s no longer restricted to full–time students who can commit to on–campus programs,” said Jennifer Brady,
Director of Marketing, UMassOnline. “We are committed to providing students access to the quality education offered by the University of Massachusetts through a flexible format online. CourseAdvisor has helped us reach students with a variety of needs and interests and bring them into the UMass community.”
