Brian Eberman, Chief Executive Officer
Brian Eberman joined the company in 2006 as Vice President of Engineering and Operations for CourseAdvisor.com (an Avenue100 subsidiary). He was appointed to CEO of Avenue100 in 2008.
Brian has more than 15 years of experience in engineering and product management. Previously, he led product management at Nuance Communication, where he was responsible for driving strategy and product development for its $100M+ speech division. During his time at Nuance, Brian co-authored a now widely used IETF specification for the control of speech systems (MRCP) and led the development of the first open source VoiceXML interpreter. Prior to Nuance, Brian led advanced development for a multimedia content indexing solution at Digital Equipment and development of force feedback devices at Exos, Inc.
Brian holds thirteen patents in speech technology, internet search and virtual reality, along with Ph.D., S.M. and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
Rob Carbonaro, Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development
Rob Carbonaro brings over 20 years of sales and general management experience to his position. Previously, he served as Vice President of Sales and Client Services at Experience, Inc. which pioneered the first Web-based college recruiting platform. At Experience, Rob was a principal member of the founding executive team and involved in all aspects of the business. Rob led the company’s market strategy achieving the #1 share position within 4 years of initial product launch.
Prior to joining Experience, Rob held sales leadership and general management positions at Hewlett-Packard during a period of unprecedented growth in the Computer Products Division. During this time revenue grew from $300 million to more than $8 billion. Previously, Rob held sales leadership positions at NEECO Inc., growing revenue from under $10 million to more than $250 million over five years and completing a successful IPO.
Rob holds a B.S. in Business and Economics from Plymouth State University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Babson College.
Brian Carr, Chief Marketing Officer
In his role at Avenue100, Brian Carr oversees the company’s extensive marketing programs, including all online advertising campaigns, branding strategies, search engine optimization as well as a growing number of market-specific website launches.
For the past 10 years, he has helped pioneer interactive marketing strategies at organizations such as Lycos. Most recently Carr was Senior Vice President at NameMedia where he oversaw media operations. Prior to joining NameMedia, he was General Manager of Business Operations at the Terra Lycos network, overseeing partner services, reporting, customer service, advertising operations and the daily site experience for the network’s 38 million monthly unique visitors. Carr has also held production and editorial roles at Altavista.com, CBS SportsLine.com and the Syracuse (NY) Herald-Journal.
Jeremy Levitan, Chief Technology Officer
Prior to joining Avenue 100, Jeremy was President of Click Harmonics, a research and development incubator for online lead generation. In that capacity, Jeremy’s team developed and launched successful web properties including 123FindACar, 123BestCarDeals, USBusinessIndex.com, and 123FindAJob (sold to Percipio Media Group).
Previously, Jeremy founded and managed ICEO, Inc., a venture-backed company focused on commercializing innovative microfluidic pumping and mixing technologies, and founded XTENserver, a venture-backed startup developing predictive modeling for large databases. Jeremy holds 9 US patents in micro- and nano-fluidics, hydraulic valving, and MEMS devices, as well as Ph.D., S.M., and B.S. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. Jeremy also completed two post-doctoral research positions in Applied Mathematics at MIT.
Mary Long, General Counsel
Mary has been working with Avenue100 Media Solutions since 2007, and became the company’s General Counsel on a part time basis in 2009. Mary is an accomplished legal executive with over 20 years experience providing advice and support to software and technology companies. In her role at the company, she is responsible for all legal matters including content licensing, strategic partnerships, contractual agreements and regulatory compliance.
Prior to working with Avenue100, Mary was Vice President, General Counsel of BrassRing, a leading provider of talent management solutions. Before that she was Vice President & General Counsel of Modus Media, a multinational provider of global supply chain management services to the technology industry and the first General Counsel of PictureTel, a videoconferencing provider.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and received her J.D. from the University of Virginia.
Greg Titus, Chairman & General Manager, GetTheJob.com
With more than 20 years of experience in the education, finance and advertising worlds, Greg Titus founded CourseAdvisor in 2004 and co-founded Avenue100 Media Solutions in 2008.
Greg was formerly President/CEO of Acadient, a leading developer of online education services and the parent company of The Boston Institute of Finance, The Willet Institute and Boston Test Prep. Prior to founding Acadient, Greg was Senior Vice President of e-Commerce at Scudder Kemper Investments.
Greg has an extensive agency background. He helped found and served as Vice President/Director of Arnold Interactive, the interactive media division of Arnold Worldwide, and has held positions at Young & Rubicam/New York, Saatchi and Saatchi/DFS and RSC/Boston.
Greg serves as a director for several technology start-ups and non-profit organizations. He is also a past member of the board of directors of the Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange (www.mitx.org). He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and art from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and attended the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University.
